LTO-5 & Lower Prices!

The ever changing world of tape reflects the commitment of tape device developers by providing a tape format that holds 1.5 Terabytes for its native capacity.  This allows for customers who are backing film, audio and pictures to backup almost twice the amount of data on a single tape when compared to LTO-4.  LTO-3 users will be able to backup nearly four times the amount of data onto a single tape.

If speed is a factor, LTO-4 users know that LTO-4 has a top speed of 80 or 120MB/sec, whereas LTO-5 brings the native speed to 140MB/sec.  Like LTO-3 and LTO-4, LTO-5 also supports the WORM (Write Once Read Many) tape format.
