BRU Producer's Edition 2.3.0 Supports LTFS 1.2.0
In addition to BRU PE's native archival, backup, and restore functionality, BRU PE 2.3.0 will offer users of LTO-5 tape technology with the ability to manage LTFS (Linear Tape File System) volumes side by side with your BRU PE volumes.
The LTFS Manager dialog will allow the user to format LTFS tapes, Mount and Unmount them from their OS X system, and import LTFS volume content information into BRU PE within the easy to use, BRU PE point-and-click interface.
- Format new LTFS Volumes within the BRU PE providing a volume name for easier, human identification of volumes.
- Mount or Unmount LTFS volumes on your OS X system without the need for resorting to cryptic Terminal command line commands.
- Import both BRU PE and other LTFS volumes into BRU PE
- Search / Browse both mounted and offline LTFS Volume content in the BRU PE Restore panel side by side with your native BRU PE volumes.
The BRU PE 2.3.0 distribution will include all of the components required to add LTFS support to your Intel®-based, PCIe® Mac Pro or Xserve running Mac OS X 10.6.5 or higher with attached LTO-5 tape drives.
